The Michigan Secretary of State’s Administrative Hearings Section or the Driver License Appeal Division serves as one of the avenues of appeal for the average driver seeking reinstatement of a license revoked by the Secretary of State for reasons such as too many points or too many chargeable accidents. MCL 257.320.
The Administrative Hearings Section is the exclusive avenue of appeal for drivers whose licenses have been revoked and denied as a result of multiple drunk driving offenses or other serious driving convictions. Drivers participating in an approved Sobriety Court may be issued a restricted license instead of having the license revoked.
